Nestled in the steep hills of Galicia in northwest Spain, Bodegas La Val was founded in 1985 as the culmination of a long-term project to produce fine, estate-grown Albarino wines with zero compromises. Today the estate consists of some 80 hectares scattered across many small plots along the Mino River Valley. These ideal sites benefit from the perfect climate to produce grapes of optimal ripeness and acidity. In a region dominated by large cooperatives, La Val produces some of the finest, most distinctive Albarino to be had.

Fruit is sourced from the Taboexa Vineyard (300m above sea level, giving the wine bright acidity), and the Arantei Vineyard (30m above sea level, imparting ripeness and full body). Fruit is macerated for 6 hours before pressing, then undergoes a slow, low-temperature fermentation in Inox for 2-3 weeks. The wine is then clarified and bottled.
