Vineyards.com also has a great set of maps, a bit less detailed and easier to take in at a glance.
Wine Grapes: A Complete Guide to 1,368 Vine Varieties, including their Origins and Flavours - Jancis Robinson’s magisterial guide to 1368 wine varieties- probably the best grape variety encyclopedia in print. Available at various booksellers or direct from Jancis.\
The World Atlas of Wine, originally by Hugh Johnson with more recent editions handled by Jancis Robinson- a foundation text with incredible maps for any wine library. Available from Robinson or major booksellers.
Evan Goldstein has 2 books out that explore pairing wine and food, and he is spot on with his approach- a focus on size, weight and texture, fidelity of regional wine to regional food… he really nails it. Perfect Pairings is the best intro flavor pairing guide out there- not just the what, but the why… he even gets deep in the weeds on why some pairings simply don’t work. Daring Pairings explores some less conventional grape styles and varieties with the same eye. Both are musts for any lover of food and wine.
